Alice

Alice was born in 2020. She arrived here in Feb 26 with terribly overgrown hooves. 
She was 3 when her owner got her and sadly he never managed to get them trimmed! Thankfully he signed her over to us and the work began. Although Alice was very nervous, our farrier Gareth has managed to trim her hooves and they’re now looking much better. However, this has been very painful for her and in March she got Hyperlipaemia and we nearly lost her 😢 We hope that the impact of the overgrown hooves won’t be permanent but the work will be ongoing for at least a year. 
She a very sweet donkey and is already much less nervous and loves a good scratch 😘❤️
