Blossom & Harley

In August 2022 we were called out on many occasions to help catch 3 donkeys wandering the country lanes. It’s amazing they didn’t cause an accident or get hurt. They were shy, scared of people, and just ran off whenever we approached them. The mayors of two communes were involved in trying to safeguard the donkeys but the owner just wasn’t interested and refused to mend his fences.

Our beautiful Blossom lived at the same place with her foal Harley but kept Harley safe by staying put, even though it meant she had little to no food? We immediately arranged transport and brought them here to safety.

Blossom soon started to gain weight, and even more weight until it became obvious that she was again in foal. Harley meanwhile flourished, and just grew and grew and grew. She’s a whopper and is bigger than her daddy Wallace.

In July 23 Blossom gave birth to our beautiful Rupert.

Then in Feb 24 we couldn’t believe our luck when a delightful family, two vets,(one retired, perfect!) approached us in search of a pair of donkeys. They already had horses and just needed a field shelter in one of their paddocks to complete their setup.

Blossom truly deserved the best now so with Rupert weaned and paired up with our other foal Smartie, Emma and Richard adopted Blossom and Harley.

In March 24 we transported Blossom and Harley. It was just a 20-minute journey down the road. They have settled really well and are much loved by all the family. ❤️

Another heartwarming ending which we are absolutely thrilled about 🥰
